A Perfect Summer Celebration at the Museum of English Rural Life!

Jul 17, 2025 | News

This week, Reading Community Learning Centre held our annual summer term picnic for 90 amazing women learners in the beautiful gardens of the Museum of English Rural Life.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Philippa and the incredible team at the museum for so warmly welcoming us and allowing us to use such a glorious setting!

We’re also incredibly grateful to Jennifer and Claire from the Swallowfield Village Coffee Club for joining us — and for the generous donation raised by Sue and the coffee club community. Your support means the world to us.

It was a day filled with sunshine, joy, laughter, and an incredible feast of intercultural food shared from around the world, celebrating the vibrant diversity of our learners.

Certificates were awarded to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our learners over the summer term — we are so proud of their hard work, dedication, and progress.

Thank you to everyone who made the day so special and especially the volunteers and staff of RCLC who supported the event! #CommunityLearning #SummerCelebration #ReadingUK #InterculturalPicnic #MuseumOfEnglishRuralLife #WomensEducation #LifelongLearning #ThankYou
