A brighter classroom, thanks to PwC volunteers!

May 19, 2026 | News

On Friday 15 May 2026, Reading Community Learning Centre was delighted to welcome volunteers from PwC as part of their #OneFirmOneDay initiative.

One Firm One Day is PwC’s firm-wide annual volunteering programme, giving their people the opportunity to volunteer their time and skills to support communities across the UK.

This year’s theme was Building Resilient Communities: Skills for Good, and we were thrilled to be selected to take part.

The PwC team gave their time to help paint one of our classrooms, creating a brighter, fresher and more welcoming space for the migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking women who learn with us at RCLC.

Aisha Malik, CEO of Reading Community Learning Centre, said:

“I’m hugely grateful to the amazing volunteers from PwC who gave their time through the One Firm One Day initiative to help paint our classroom on 15 May 2026. Thanks to your hard work, warmth and kindness, we now have a brighter and more welcoming classroom space for migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking women. It was such a pleasure meeting you all. What a wonderful team and truly fantastic initiative by PwC.”

A huge thank you to Tumelo Matlou CA(SA) and everyone involved. Practical support like this makes a real difference to community spaces like ours.
