Nature Walk Challenge
RCLC staff and learners are taking part in a research study organised by the University of Reading Students. The study by the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences aims to examine the effects of a walking task on mindfulness and how people feel. The ladies really enjoyed the walk and felt great afterwards!
Today 14 women participated in the Nature Walk led by the students. There were questionnaires to complete before and after the walk and then a 20 minute walk led by the University students. All the women walked from the Reading Community Learning Centre to the London Road campus and then had a chance to walk within the University Campus.
The Nature Walk Challenge will require the ladies to walk two more times individually and complete a short questionnaire at the end of each walk. There will be one last questionnaire to complete after the third outing.
The staff and ladies are looking forward to their next outing.
